Energize Connecticut's Home Energy Solutions Program
For A Co-pay of just $149.00 you can receive a Home Energy Solution Core Service to benefit your energy needs and increase the comfort level of your home!
The Home Energy Assessment begins with important safety tests on your furnace and water heater to ensure your units are running efficiently. Our technicians perform a blower-door test to pinpoint drafts and air leaks. Once the air leaks have been positively identified, the technicians can then seal critical air leaks by caulking, foaming, and weatherstripping critical points.
If you have a forced hot air or central air conditioning unit(s), our technicians will test your ductwork to assess airflow within the ductwork system as a whole. If the ductwork passes program guidelines, duct sealing may be performed.
Hot water-saving measures including low-flow showerheads, faucet aerators and hot water pipe insulation up to 6 feet, may be installed under the discretion of the customer.
Energy-efficient lighting is provided through the Home Energy Solutions Program at no cost to the customer. A total of 25 Light Emitting Diode Bulbs (LEDs) may be installed under the discretion of the customer. Subsequent lighting may be purchased by the customer at a subsidized cost.
A kitchen table wrap-up completes the energy assessment during which the technicians review the work performed and tell you about deeper energy saving measures that can help you save even more energy and money. Financing options to aid in purchasing energy efficient upgrades will be given to the customer.
You will be provided with:
An easy-to-read Home Energy Solutions workbook, which shows what areas in your home were addressed during the visit, the results of the blower-door test, 101 easy ways to save energy and other information resources and forms specific to your home.
Payback and investment information for deeper energy saving measures, such as insulation, high-efficiency heating and cooling systems, water heaters, ENERGY STAR-certified windows and appliances.
Information about rebates including:
Up to $500 for qualifying central air conditioning systems
Up to $100 towards the replacement of certain inefficient appliances with qualifying energy-efficient models
Up to $1,000 for qualifying natural gas furnaces
Incentives for qualifying insulation upgrades
Now that you have your Home Energy Solutions workbook, it is up to you to take the next step toward saving more energy. Decide what you can do on your own and what you may need to hire a contractor for. The sooner you take action, the sooner you’ll see savings!
